*Molly Goggins Talbot* loves her new house in Brooklyn as well as her
husband who works in Internet Law with Skadden Arps' Intellectual
Property Group. Molly's been coordindating client workshops with
high-power Executives who are in town meeting with her company,
Anderson Consulting. She also had lots of news of other NMH folks
which I'm including:
"*Anne McCasland Pexton* is still living in Australia with her
husband, Simon. The just moved from Adelaide to Melbourne and she is
going to Law School, taking time off from her Ph.D. Clearly she loves
school! She and Simon are planning a ceremony in London this summer
for family and friends who weren't there when they got married in
March of '98. *Justin Gibbons* '92 is living in Arlington, VA for the
time being but may be moving to Uzbekistan with his job at ACTR. *Tom
Curley* '92 is teaching at Eaglebrook School right down the road from
NMH but will probably be moving out West in the next couple of
months. *Jenny Swedlund* '94 is living and working in Boston with an
old friend of mine from Cape Cod. I reconnected with Jenny a couple of
years back on the Cape and she began hanging out with my friends and
I."
My sister *Kathryn Kawecki* (97) graduated from Columbia University
and is now at the Glimmerglass Opera Company for the summer in
Cooperstown, New York. I saw her perform in a hippy rendition of
Midsummer Night's Dream with the King's Crown Theater at Columbia.
Lysander forgot to say "How quick bright things come to confusion" but
from I heard they still let him graduate. I liked the play. I saw
*Jonathan Chick* while I was down there. He is still living in the
same renovated industrial building as 5 years ago and has gotten some
photography work in several national magazines recently. "I'm livin
in the slum with the bad guy bums, Brooklyn is mean yeah Bed Sty's
clean, Little Man Big on the next block Over, Bars on the windows I'll
blow up that Range Rover." That was all Jonathan said when I
commented on how scary it was just to drive through his hood.
*Todd McConchie* has been from one coast to the other. After his
internship at San Diego State doing research on bottlenose dolphin
migrations, Todd spent some time fixing up bikes in San Diego and
then returned to Washington DC to work at the Smithsonian again. His
new project? Continuing with documentation of all the species in
North America. Good luck Todd. Also some more exciting news from
Todd here but I can't print it because it alludes to future events so
you'll have to wait til the next issue... If *Celeste Wilhelm* or
*Aleika McAllister* is reading this, please email Todd at
wpolo97 -- AT -- hotmail.com or stop by the Smithsonian and try to find him.
*Beverly Flores* writes with news from New York: "My nickname 'Buffy'
has been extinguished. I've been in NYC for the last several years,
finished a degree in industrial
design, and am now forming a website and graphic design company at
full
speed and traveling as much as I possibly can. You can check out the
company I am designing for now at www.totemdesign.com. I should have
my own site up soon - I'll let you know! *Aaron DiRusso* *Justin
Heckman* or *Ajay Kasargod*, please call again sometime or send
e-mail, smoke signals, or a telegram with the latest news to
718-624-7047. In other news, I've hung out with *Jude Kiernan* ('91)
several times lately - he's kept up with the film making and lives
here in New York. I've also been keeping up with *Jacques
Posell-Wilson* and *Daniela Pinto* (she's now part of a traveling
nurse group all over the country), and my roommate of two years was
*Phelan Wibecan* (aka "jeb" - skater guy with flaming orange hair at
nmh)! (you wouldn't believe that he's a super computer genius these
days!) My brother, *Mike Flores* ('94), is in Stowe, Vermont, working
as part of the Youth Core branch. I also have a cousin, *Zachary
Miller* ('95) who is probably jumping out of a plane right now as
part of his reserves training. *Ellen Forbes* (94) is in upstate New
York, working towards her all-time dream of becoming a vet, and may
return to Wyoming in the summer."
Evan Moss (evanmoss -- AT -- hotmail.com) is in Guatemala as a peace corps
volunteer in appropriate technology, building stoves, constructing
latrines, and digging wells in an effort to preserve volcan Ipala and
its resources and build a base of eco-tourismo. "poco a poco. if any
of the old pals can get down here, be in touch, would love to here
from you all....... que la vaya bien, emoss"
*John Abbey* has been promoted inside his firm, William M. Mercer,
Inc. and was relocated in the process: "I've done the unthinkable and
moved out to the West Coast. Boston to San Francisco is quite the
change. I do look forward to find out which NMH alumns live out this
way. My email address is john.abbey -- AT -- us.wmmercer.com." Be sure to
write John if you are in the Bay area.
*Nina Atluri* graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor's in Industrial
Engineering from Georgia Tech but just loves school: "Now I
am at Georgia State University finishing up course work for a Master
of
Science in Health Administration and this August I will move to
California to attend Pepperdine University in Malibu for an MBA and
hopefully work part time in the health care industry. I would love to
see any NMH people in the area!" Write her at
ninaatluri -- AT -- mindspring.com.
Congradulations to *Tom Stearns* and his wife *Heather* (who works at
a Waldorf school) who are making fantastic progess on their projects
in Walden, Vermont -- a seed company and a pottery company.
*Xantha Bruso* has been travelling between Florida, Alaska,
California, and Massachusetts. She now has her pilot's license so if
you can catch her in a moment away from her grad school work in
Geography at MIT, you might get a flight "on the house", "on the
dome" or whatever they can cook up there.
And the last news is from *Alanna Rutherford*: "I don't know if its
too late but *Neeri Rao* and I just graduated Columbia University
Law School." Too late, Allana? Sounds too early to me; did you guys
skip a grade? Congradulations is all I can say!
I've started a new company (americaorganic.com) and incorporated my
consulting business (peterchristopher.com) but the truth is most of
the time I am just playing with my new toys here on the farm -- the
Husqvarna 351 chainsaw and my Kubota are favorites but I also secretly
enjoy splitting wood with the maul. Come stop by Vermont for a ride
or some "relaxing" chores.
